what I can't stand is
the paperwork."

A while ago I came across some 20 songs by this band. At first I only liked one of them but because of that one I forgot to delete the rest. Recently I stumbled upon the whole bunch again, this time taking a liking to a few more, with this one as a new favourite. And of course it didn’t hurt that it had some metaparody potential.

Fallen on hard rhymes, and I feel really slow
There’s filks and funnies that I’m still to pen
Writing on bad lines, for better puns as I go
Tear up, tear up the final draft again

Oh, they rhyme sinister, it’s all such a mess
Go right ahead and muck my rotten ruth
Sure, I must circumvent, I’ve been put to a test
Bum green, four stanzas left stress, where’s a sleuth?

Booking some puntime, oh, but I slack I am told
Cos I think that filks and funnies comes round the bend
Given me a hard to transcend
Writing on the same line again

Failing on hard rhymes, and here’s where I subside
Where I recognize direrhymeitis and the stench
Yearning for good lines, and this goes in the bin
Soon it will be raised, I, foolish mensch

Lovely muse help me, it’s been seeping too long
Oh, I can’t make do when you're outta town
I must stop this parody, shove it where it belongs
Don’t ask me for it arty, won’t come around

Trying for ”orange”, oh, but you know what they say
Yeah, they say forever more that’ll be a ”when?”
Giving me a hard time, my friends
Writing down the same line again

Fallen on hard rhymes
I’ve fallen on hard rhymes
Fallen on hard rhymes
Cannot step between the mines
I’ve fallen on hard rhymes
