Raise the ceiling

A MUSIC PARODY
BASED ON:
"SAILING"
BY: ROD STEWART

BONUS QUOTE:
"I'm living so far beyond my income that we may almost be said to be living apart."
E. E. CUMMINGS

From the news some days ago I learned about the current so called debt ceiling crisis in America, it seems to me there is no limit to the lengths at which politicians (from any party) will go to get attention to themselves, but as the word "ceiling" was used by everyone interviewed the old Rod Stewart hit "sailing" kept popping up in my head. I've never borrowed it for a parody before but here it is with some words of un-valuable advice for the stalling US congress. ;-)
The original song and a video for it can be heard/seen HERE.

Raise the ceiling, raise the ceiling
Call your friends 'cross the sea
Raise the ceiling, fix the budget
With a trillion, maybe three

Stop denying, stop the crying
'Cos the chest's running dry
Stop the whining, at least out loud
Go in-debt thee - endlessly

Can you maybe, can you maybe
Sign more debt bills, every day
Stop denying, and all the lying
That you'll solvent be one day

Can you pay the, can you pay the
Older debt bills, no no-way
Stop the acting, and all distracting
Congress whoring is OK

Raise the ceiling, raise the ceiling
Call to Beijing 'cross the sea
Raise the ceiling, fix the budget
Get in balance, on your knees

Or sell them Alaska for a fee
Of some fourty gazillions (Add Palin free)
Oh heed my advice from overseas
From the floor
