"Last night I played a blank tape at full blast. The mime next door went nuts."

Because of the way the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has managed to lobby their own government into going after not only file sharing citizens on their home front but also to put pressure on European governments to crack down on the same it came as quite a surprise to me when I learned that president George Dubya Bush himself accidentally had come out as a file sharing pirate! By his own words he has Beatles songs on his iPod, something you at the moment couldn't get legally from any downloading platform including iTunes, and in addition ripping your own legally purchased CD's is still against the law in the US so any way you look at it the president is both a pirate and a private property infringement criminal! Read all about it (and see the confessional video) here. There is of course a large chunk of irony in any news report or blog post on this but my song parody here is not a mocking of Bush per se (though with election year polarisation over there I can understand why one could believe so) but a stab at the RIAA's absurd actions (suing dead people), interpretations and inability to accept 21:th century technology and its everyday use for average people by showing that not even the most powerful man in the world, surrounded by dozens of lawyers to give him daily advice, can live in accordance to what they want the law to be.

There he was with iPod chilling, said it was his own
All inside was golden oldies as he worked his list on down
Guess he thought nobody knew that it's based on crime
Had he been another man he'd best prepare to do some time

Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law

So much for song files by Beatles, they don't come online!
And if ripped ol' Dubya's crooked, R.I.A.A slam a fine!
Did he know that he stole? Did he have a clue?
If he did I'll say it's fair we do the same thing too!

Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law

For the songs that he likes!

Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
