one and only

A MUSIC PARODY
BASED ON:
"I AM THE ONE AND ONLY"
BY: CHESNEY HAWKES

BONUS QUOTE:
"What really interests me is whether God had any choise in the creation of the world."
ALBERT EINSTEIN

This song was inspired by a passage in the book The end of faith by Sam Harris about how moderate Christians tend to not question the belief of their more bible thumping neighbours that there is only one God and that that is to be justified by the Bible. Well, let's look at a central part of the Good Book, one that is allegedly written by God himself, shall we? For starters it says in the very first commandment that "you shall have no other gods before me". Before? As in the presence of? Surely this call to exclusiveness makes no sense unless the already selected people of Mose at that time actually had other gods to hold him over. Maybe even ones they once used to worship on the same mountain slopes...

I'm not the one and only

Call me
Call me by my names and
Call me by the scriptures
Believe or muse it
I was as singled out as maids to druids
And still men try to make me abet
When they call to arms
They call me, I'm addressed
But I'm a meme like all the rest

And not the one and only
The Book says I cannot be
And not the one and only
You can't claim that of poor old me

I've been connoted to the cloud scene
Believed though I am unseen
Where faith embraced it
My meme killed a thousand races
Up close examinations
Show that for generations
I've been the source of crime
But haven't talked to anyone worldwide

No, not a-one and only
Nobody has heard from me
Yet I'm the one and only
They do claim that of poor old me

I emerged from cuneiform with other mountain duces
So 'course you'll find out that Gods come
In different shapes and sizes
Now's time, to put me in the trash can
A troglodytic mind scam
And while I am not true
Take that advice, it's good for you

IRONICALLY ENOUGH - A SOLO

And it's the one and only
You ever will hear from me
Yes, it's the one and only
You can't claim more of poor old me

I weren't the one and only
No, buddy I couldn't be
I'm not the one and only
You claim that once more I'll strike thee!
